We exist to glorify God, be formed by the Gospel, and carry His love into the Tri-Cities, Appalachia, and the rest of the world.
Our Core Values:
Gospel-Centered
We stand upon the grace of God given to us in Jesus Christ. Upon Him do we center all our lives.
Liturgically Formed
We embrace the rhythms of worship and formation handed to us in order to shape our hearts, habits, and imaginations in the way of Jesus Christ.
Relationally Rich
We are committed to building a healthy and joy-filled fellowship for the heart of Christ in us is formed in the context of community.
Theologically Robust
We believe the life of the mind is a gift of God to be nurtured as we seek to know more of Him and His truth.
Missionally Focused
We have been called to be emissaries of the Kingdom in our area. In partnership with other churches, we seek to bring the light of Christ into darkness.
Our Leadership
Rev. Andrew Wininger
Andrew was born and raised in the Tri-Cities, just outside of Kingsport. Sensing a call to ministry, he went to Chicago to study theology at Moody Bible Institute where he met his wife, Sarah. Together, they moved to Denver for seminary where Andrew earned an MA in Theology and Sarah, a certificate in Spiritual Direction. Though falling in love with the tradition of Anglicanism in Chicago, it was in Denver where they found a beautiful Anglican congregation. It was here, at Trinity Anglican in Littleton, that Andrew began working in ministry, was ordained a deacon, and eventually sent to West Virginia to begin a church-planting residency at Hope Church in Charleston.
In free time, Andrew runs a leather goods business (and plenty of other miscellaneous hobbies) while Sarah enjoys her art and jigsaw puzzles. (They are always up for a good board game.)
Mission Hope:
Mission Hope began by Fr. Derek Roberts and Fr. Jim Sallie in 2018 as a church-planting network to see churches planted throughout the state of West Virginia. With a passion for Appalachia as a distinct region of our country, it is now expanding beyond WV into KY and TN to serve those regions so shaped by addiction and isolation with the hope of the Gospel.
Diocese of Christ our Hope
We belong to the Diocese of Christ our Hope, led by Bishop Alan Hawkins, a diocese of the province of the Anglican Church of North America.
